New at Wilson this Year:  Tribes

Wilson Elementary has increased the focus on relationships among students this year by instituting “Tribes.”  Kindergarten and third grade classes are partnered, first and fourth grade classrooms are paired, and second and fifth grade classes are buddied.  Tribes meet together at least twice per month, and then eat lunch together on those days as well.

Tribes are competing for the best attendance award, as well as best lunchroom behavior, in order to earn special recess together.  Some classroom pairings have developed special handshakes, and others have become special reading buddies.  Tribes are a great way to build meaningful relationships between our Wilson students!
