Autism Intervention Team

The Autism Intervention Team, or AIT, is made up of professional staff from the Hays West Central Kansas Special Education Cooperative. The purpose of the Autism Intervention Team is to assist teachers and educational teams with academic and behavior strategies to improve the quality of education for children on the autism spectrum. Referrals can be made to the team by general education and special education teachers, administration, other professional staff, and parents. Tools of the AIT include classroom observations, interviews with parents and school staff, standardized scales and assessment, behavior program development, designing data collection and progess monitoring systems, and assisting teams with an educational diagnosis of autism.
